Over the years, we are all susceptible to the wear and tear of being an active participant in this world. We accumulate injuries both major and minor within our body's structural components: bones, tendons, ligaments, nerves, and musculature. Over time, these injuries uniquely express their damage by creating tension and pain to various degrees of severity. Through Massage Therapy, we can begin to better understand the source of the pain and effectively treat the soft tissue components contributing to the pain. In most cases, a significant difference can be made with just a few sessions, depending on the conditions of the symptoms. The combination of Massage Therapy and Functional Fitness training can be even more effective.

I emphasize and encourage an efficient approach to breathing. This addresses our most important nutrient, oxygen! As the blood oxygen levels increase, therapeutic bodywork opens areas where blood flow might have been compromised from past injury or inactivity. This increased circulation into specific body spaces will increase the healing response.

I like to incorporate structural, circulatory and relaxation work into all my sessions. The structural work adjusts the activity of certain muscle groups determined to be overworking or not working at all. The circulatory work improves oxygenation and moves lymphatic fluids increasing healing response. The relaxation allows the mind to focus on the body and rest from the non-stop chattering of the mind.

Every session takes into consideration the needs of the client, as well as the state of the tissue. My clients state that they feel an overall functional improvement even in a single session, increased range of motion, and deeply grounded. I look forward to exploring what this work can accomplish for you!
